I’ve had the pleasure of spending a week in this quaint little mountain town of Crested Butte. It is adorable and has great vibes. I’m not much of a skier, but I went once so far this week (will probably go one more time). It was fun; I hadn’t skied in probably ten years. And I had only skied in the midwest/east so the mountains in Colorado are more intense. I did fairly well though considering my lack of experience. I was really more excited to go take some yoga classes.
After spending the last few months in central Illinois where yoga studios are scarce, I’ve had to depend on my self practice. I’ve actually been pretty disciplined and have been practicing regularly, but I do miss going to a class. When doing a self practice, it is easier to get distracted or interrupted. Also, you might not be challenging yourself as much. Before I even got to Colorado, I scoped out a yoga studio. I took 3 classes this week at Yoga For the Peaceful. I loved it so much. I took one ‘Slow Flow’ class which was more restorative; and two ‘Prana Vinyasa’ classes. They were all wonderful and all 3 teachers I went to were very good. It’s very interesting to take new classes and try new teachers now that I am a certified teacher and I know a lot more about the practice. I think you can learn something from every teacher. Here is a photo from one of the ‘Prana Vinyasa’ classes:
After class one day I wandered into a coffee/tea/book shop. I decided to have some chocolate peppermint tea and a gluten free muffin. Both were delicious! I would highly recommend Rumors Coffee and Tea House if you ever come to Crested Butte.
I have a few more days here so hopefully I intend to soak up all the beauty and good vibes that Crested Butte has to offer.
