I grew up in a small farming town in Illinois.  I always knew I was destined to travel and explore new places.  I went to college in Philadelphia and got a degree in fashion.  I then moved to NYC and immediately started working in the fashion industry.  After almost 7 years of working for major fashion brands, I started to question if it was what I wanted to do forever.  I decided my happiness was more important than being ‘safe’ in a career.  I quit my job, sold all my furniture, and moved to Hawaii!  It was a huge leap, but it was exciting and I knew it was what I needed.

I’ve been practicing yoga (not always consistently) for over 10 years.  I went to classes at my gym in high school/college and I went to classes here and there when I lived in NYC.  When I moved to Oahu, I knew I wanted to start doing yoga regularly…and I did!  I found a studio I liked and went as much as I could.  After living there for about 6 months, one of the teachers I went to regularly mentioned she was doing a teacher training.  I talked to her a little more about it and decided I was going to do it.  I had always toyed with doing a teacher training, but I guess it just never felt like the right time.  For 2 months all I did was practice & learn about yoga and work.  It was amazing and I think I had post-yoga training depression when it was over.  I loved learning about this ancient practice, deepening my own practice, and spending time with my fellow yogis.  It felt right and it felt like this is what I’m supposed to be doing with my life.

I want my site to be a fun and informative place for people to find inspiration and learn.  Some of my passions are travel, adventure, outdoors, healthy food, photography, and of course yoga!  This will be a place for all of those things and more!  I hope you enjoy my journey.

Namaste,
Natalie
